Stompin’ Dance Troupe

Molodi, an extreme body percussion group, returns to Albuquerque for the first time in eight years for an intimate four show stand at The Cell Theatre in Downtown ABQ March 5th-7th. They will be performing their new show, Raw Footage, an energetically intense and compelling mix of stepping, tap, clapping, rhythm and gumboots. This quintet of dancers joined together after having performed in demanding productions such as Stomp, Step Afrika, Cirque de Soleil and Stomp the Yard.
Albuquerque is the hometown for three of the performers: Jason Nious (Albuquerque High School/UNM), Antwan Davis, and Khalid Freeman (Highland High School).
Molodi uses speed and improvisation to blend traditional percussive dance with guerilla style theatre and poetry. Molodi delivers a show that is full and rich with intricate and innovative choreography, akin to the precision of “42nd Street” mixed in with the likes of award winning guerilla style hip-hop dance crews.
In addition to the performances, Molodi will be offering a public workshop for all ages at 2pm on Sunday, March 7th.
